Waters Off
Every spring hundreds of Plumbers and Gasfitters from Minnesota Pipe Trades locals join with community action groups and donate time and materials to help low income and disabled Minnesotans live healthier and happier lives.
According to the World Health Organization we live in a world, "where preventable diseases related to water and sanitation claim the lives of about 3.1 million people a year, most of them children less than five years old. Of these, about 1.6 million people die from diarrhoeal diseases associated with lack of safe drinking-water and adequate sanitation."
Most of us probably don't think we have much to worry about living in a state with such a high standard of living but our experience, and the experienced opinions of the community organizers says otherwise.
It has long been the mantra of the Plumber to "Protect the health of the nation" and this is just another way of doing that for those who might otherwise have to choose between groceries and clothing for their children, or fixing a problem with the plumbing.
While most plumbing problems are fairly easy to identify, sometimes problems can be difficult to spot and that is where a licensed Plumber can point out these problems and recommend a course of corrective action. This is exactly what Waters Off is all about.
